Bolivia

Bolivia is the high plateau with La Paz and Uyuni, the tropical valleys around Santa Cruz, and the lowest cost of living in South America. Rent, food and transport cost almost nothing by regional standards, while imported goods and electronics are expensive and slow to arrive. The highlands have a dry season from May to October and stay cool all year, while the lowlands are hot and humid. The altitude is hard for the first weeks, healthcare is weak, internet uneven, and Spanish is essential nearly everywhere.
