Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso is dry savannah, craft traditions and Ouagadougou with its film festival as the cultural hub of the region. Local produce is cheap, imports and expatriate housing are expensive, and the choice of goods is limited. The climate is hot and dry: rain from June to September, harmattan dust in winter and a punishing spring. Entry is arranged in advance, travel beyond the capital is restricted, and healthcare and power supply are intermittent.
