El Salvador

El Salvador is a compact country of surf coast and volcanoes, with the whole distance from ocean to mountains covered in a couple of hours. Prices are low, the dollar is the currency, and coastal rent has risen in recent years along with outside interest. The dry season runs from November to April and the rains from May to October, with an even temperature all year. Healthcare and roads outside the capital are weak, work for foreigners is limited, and life gets noticeably harder without Spanish.
