Northern Mariana Islands
The Northern Mariana Islands are Saipan, Tinian and Rota: beaches, wartime history and American rules in an Asian setting. Everything is priced in dollars, imports are expensive, and rent is cheaper than on Guam though the choice of housing is small. It is warm all year, the wet season runs from July to November, and typhoons pass regularly. The economy depends on tourism, healthcare is basic, and complex cases and serious shopping happen on Guam or in the US.
