Panama

Panama lives off the canal and banking: the capital looks like a small Miami, with the Boquete highlands and Caribbean islands a couple of hours away. Everything is priced in dollars, rent and groceries cost more than in neighbouring countries, and foreign income is not taxed. The tropics without temperature seasons: a dry season from December to April, rain from May to November, and cool highlands all year. Residency is simpler here than in most of the region; what takes adjusting is the humidity, the traffic and the price of imports.
