Prices run above the regional mainland because of imports and resort demand, though rent outside the tourist zones is moderate. The dry season runs from December to May with rain in summer and autumn, and hurricanes shape the second half of the year. Work is tied to tourism, healthcare is basic, the mountain roads are slow, and flights connect through neighbouring hubs.
