South Sudan

South Sudan mainly receives staff of international organisations and contractors rather than independent travellers. Local produce is cheap, while international-standard housing and services in Juba are very expensive. The climate is tropical, with a rainy season roughly from April to November and hot dry weather the rest of the year. A visa is arranged in advance, trips inside the country are planned with local support, and healthcare and connectivity exist mainly in the capital.
