Suriname

Suriname is Dutch heritage, rainforest across almost the whole territory and Paramaribo as the only real city. Local food and housing are cheap, imports are expensive, and the exchange rate is unstable. The climate is humid tropical: two rainy seasons, heat all year and relief only by the river. Roads run along the coast alone, the interior is reached by boat or plane, and healthcare outside the capital is limited.
