  • Hospitals and Clinics in Kanchanaburi: Where to Get Medical Care

Kanchanaburi has two hospitals that take emergency and inpatient cases: a public one — serving the entire region, and a private one — with shorter waits. The rest are general clinics and specialized consultations in the city center. We've collected where to go depending on your situation. ## How We Selected We divided by type: public hospital for emergencies and serious cases, private — if speed and English-speaking staff matter, clinics — for general practitioner consultations and simple cases without hospitalization. ## What Works for Whom - **Paholpolpayuhasena Hospital** — the main public hospital of the province on the banks of Khwai Noi River. Takes emergency, surgical, and inpatient cases, works with international insurance, some departments have coordinators for foreign patients. - **Synphaet Kanchanaburi Hospital** — private hospital with 100 beds and international accreditation with 24-hour emergency department. Faster than public hospital, but paid service. - **Hospital on Sangchuto Road** (Saeng Chu To) — another private inpatient ward in the center, closer to the southern part of the city. - **Ruam Phaet Clinic**, **Chelim Chay Clinic**, and **Manat Medical** — general clinics in the center, for a general practitioner without advance booking. - **Kaew Skin Clinic** — dermatology clinic near the Don Rak memorial. ## What to Know in Advance The public hospital operates mainly in Thai, consultations take time — for non-urgent cases, it's faster to go to a private clinic or hospital. In an emergency, call 1669 (Thailand emergency ambulance) or go directly to Paholpolpayuhasena — it's the nearest hospital with a full set of departments.
