Togo
Togo is a narrow strip from the ocean to the savannah: Lomé on the coast, the Kpalimé hills and villages in the north. Local produce and rent are cheap, imports are expensive, and services for foreigners are few. The climate is tropical: two rainy seasons in the south, one in the north, and heat all year. French is essential, healthcare is limited, infrastructure beyond Lomé is weak, and power supply is uneven.
