Tunisia is a short flight from Europe, with Mediterranean beaches, old medinas and the Sahara a few hours away. Prices sit far below Europe: rent, food and services cost little, and the resort season barely moves everyday expenses. Summers are hot and dry, coastal winters mild and rainy, and desert nights stay cold all year. The visa-free stay is long, but salaries are low, work for foreigners is scarce, and French or Arabic is needed almost everywhere.
