Tuvalu

Tuvalu is nine low atolls where the Funafuti runway doubles as a square and a football pitch between flights. Prices are high, the choice of goods is minimal, and almost everything arrives on infrequent ships and flights from Fiji. It is hot and humid all year, the wet season runs from November to April, and high tides regularly reach the roads. Work is in the public sector and on ships, healthcare is basic, and anything serious goes to Fiji or New Zealand.
